We have updated our shipping policy for orders delivered to European Union countries. Buy Me Japan no longer collects VAT through the IOSS scheme at checkout.
From July 1, 2026, the EU introduced a temporary €3 customs duty for each item category contained in imported orders valued at €150 or less. Due to these new import requirements, continuing to use IOSS is no longer commercially viable for us and may create additional costs and complications for our customers.
What This Means for Customers
All EU orders are now shipped without prepaid VAT or customs duties. Any VAT, customs duties, clearance fees, or other import charges assessed by the destination country must be paid by the recipient before delivery.
